All the Gold at the 2014 Wine of the Year show

It is always good to see new faces amonst the top proze winners- demonstrating the ever-increasing number of vineyards. While the old favourites like Chapel Down and Three Choirs continue to appear, the newcomer, and most northerly of the Gold Medal winners is from a county that has never featured before. Congratulations to Bill Hobson of Somerby Vineyard in Lincolnshire for his Solaris white.

This wine also took the President's Trophy for the Most Outstanding Small Production Wine.Somerby also took a SILVER for his Shepherds Delight Rose- an award that was also received by the (current) most northerly vineyard- Stuart Smith at Ryedale in North Yorkshire.
