Vyrnwy Vineyard is a rural vineyard on the borders of England and Wales, situated a stones throw from the beautiful Lake Vyrnwy which supplies water to Merseyside
and Livepool. It lies on a south facing slope that falls 300 feet in half a mile to a tributary of the River
Tanat in Powys. This provides advantages of a gradient safeguarding against drainage issues but also ensuring suitable breeze between the vines advantageous over flatland planting for regional conditions.
The first vineyard is rural, rustic, a labour of love, hand dug, hand planted and very much cut into the hillside. Future planting will be on a larger scale with more refined standard
landscaping. Vine DetailsThe vines were first planted around 2012.Those vines chosen benefit from early ripening with interesting parentages, all have a history of producing good wines in Britain.
