  • Ty Croes is part of a mixed farm, located near to Newborough in Ynys Mon (Anglesey)(Turn left over the Menai bridge)the vines occupy 2 acres of the farm, which includes holiday cottages. They were planted on the sandy loam in 2003,- an exercise that involved 6 miles of training wire. The rows are 8 feet apart running north-south on a gentle slope. Together with Llanbadrig in the north of the island, it is the most westerley outpost of the UK vineyard industry.
Tycroes is located just behind Dwyran church on the road between Dwyran and Newborough. The top photo looks over the village and on to Snowdonia in the background. After the retirement of Harry Dean, the vineyard has been taken over and managed by Comwy Vineyard and the wines are made under that label byHalfpenny Green Vineyards in Staffordshire.
